Dear Parents / Carers

With Christmas fast approaching we thought we’d update you on our plans for the festive season:

Discos

Years 1, 2 &3 will be catered for on Wednesday 3rd December straight after school until 4.30. (We will be holding a non-uniform day for those classes so that children coming to the disco will not need to bring in a change of clothes). The cost is £1.50 per child and they will be provided with unlimited squash and/or water, a hot dog and a packet of sweets on departure. The disco will be run by teachers and PTA members, so there is no need for parents to be with their children.
After the disco the children should be collected from the French room

Years 4 – 6 inclusive Children in the upper school will have their very own disco on the same day between 5.00 pm and 6.00pm. There will be no need for parents to attend. The cost is £2.00 and children will all receive a free drink of their choice, hot dog and sweets, there will be other refreshments available at a nominal charge.
Please ensure that the children are collected on time at 6.00pm, as they will not be allowed home unaccompanied. After the disco the children should be collected from the Hall Door next to the Kitchen.

Please see notices around school for price lists.

Wrist bands for both discos will be on sale in the school from Monday 24th November or can be ordered on the reply slips sent home with the children.

The Darlinghurst 2009 School Calendar

Following its huge popularity last year we will once again be producing a calendar with school term and holiday dates and as many school events as can be pre-arranged. This year not only will it be illustrated with the children’s self portraits but also all members of the school community to celebrate the schools 40th Anniversary.
An example of the calendar will be available for you to view in the office reception area and calendars (priced £2.50 each or £2 each for two or more) can be ordered on the reply slips provided.

Letter from Father Christmas

We have again made an agreement with Father Christmas that he will write to your children if we get £1.50 to cover postage from the North Pole. This was so popular last year that we have provided 2 reply slips if other family members wish to hear from Santa – if this is still not enough please write the details on another slip of paper. Last date for posting is 12th December so make sure your request is in before then.

Christmas Raffle

Our ever popular Christmas raffle will be drawn after the children’s evening Christmas performance on 11th December. Strips of raffle tickets for you to buy will be sent to you shortly but, in the meantime we would be delighted to receive any donations of Christmas goodies to go into the hampers.

Thank you.
